In the footsteps of the Giacometti family
The guided tour takes art lovers on a fascinating journey to the places that shaped the Giacometti family’s creative work. The route from Borgonovo to Stampa connects many significant stops: the homes and studios, the places of childhood and education, the locations where the works were created, the churches featuring Augusto’s works, and the cemetery where members of the Giacometti family have found their final resting place.
During the walk, participants also experience the landscape that inspired the imagination of Giovanni, Augusto, Alberto and Diego - a setting that accompanied and captivated them throughout their lives. Accompanying narratives, anecdotes and historical images provide a vivid insight into the artists’ lives and highlight their strong connection to the Bregaglia.
The aim of the tour is to experience art in its context, thereby understanding the three very different artistic personalities and placing them in relation to one another.
